Jaswinder Singh, a mechanical engineer is the proprietor of the Mahant Mechanical Engineering Works (REGD). He is a very honest & hard working person & likes to play Badminton. He completed his BSC in 1980 & without wasting any time did marketing job for various firms for the next 7 years. In 1987 with the job he did Mechanical engineering and in 1989 he started off with his own business under the name of Mahant Mechanical Engineering Works (REGD), and Mahant being their brand name of products.  
The manufacturing range of Mahant Mechanical Engineering Works (REGD) includes Raising machines, hydro Extractor, Vertical Calendar Machine, Pole- Drier, Tumbler, Brushing machine, New Improved gear Type Raising machine, Dyeing Winches, Embossing M/c, baby boiler, Folding machine etc. The total working area of the firm is almost 350 square yards & the firm is equipped with all kinds of required machineries & testing equipments like Lathes, Grinding machine, Drill machines, milling machines, hobbling machine etc.  

The specialty of the firm is that all the designing & manufacturing is done in house of all parts. Being the first generation entrepreneur Jaswinder Singh faced many problems in starting but his wife Kuldeep Kaur always supported him in the struggling days. Currently firm is facing the problem of skilled labor & Jaswinder Singh involved personally to solve this problem. He thinks that government should avail easy finance to the SSI’s. Firm is exporting their products to Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Egypt.
